Kevin McDaniel is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in the security industry. His journey began during his college years at California State University, Bakersfield, where he studied criminal justice and took a part-time job as a security officer to earn extra income. What started as a temporary gig quickly evolved into something bigger. Recognizing both the challenges and the potential within the industry, Kevin launched his own security guard agency while still in college.

Driven by a strong work ethic, he put himself through school and later earned his Juris Doctor from Arizona Summit Law School. While managing his security agency, he studied for and passed the bar exam — a personal milestone that reflects his discipline and commitment to self-mastery. Law school did more than sharpen his analytical thinking; it became a critical foundation for his business success. Understanding the legal landscape gave Kevin a unique advantage in navigating contracts, labor laws, liability issues, and regulatory compliance — all of which are vital in the security industry. His legal training equipped him to build structures that protected his business while fostering trust with clients and government entities. This mastery of law proved even more valuable as he expanded into international ventures. In Africa, where business climates can be complex and vary widely by country, Kevin’s ability to interpret and apply local and international legal frameworks helped him operate with clarity, avoid costly pitfalls, and form strategic alliances.

After spending two years living in East Africa, Kevin sold his security company and moved to Atlanta. It was during this time that he observed a frustrating lack of professionalism and consistency across many local security firms. Sensing a gap in the market, he founded McDaniel Security Consultants to offer something better: a smarter, more transparent model that respects both the client and the officer.

Outside of business, Kevin is a devoted husband and father. He and his wife have two young children — a one-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son. When he's not managing his investments through KFM Holdings or writing fantasy novels under the pen name K.F. McDaniel, he’s enjoying time with his family. For Kevin, building a company is about more than business. It’s about believing in people, investing in potential, and creating a legacy.
